The way this works is they “hack” into one insecure site and get the password that you used there. They hope you are using the same password on other sites as well (you aren’t, are you). They probably have programs that try a bunch of well known sites (banks, gmail…) to try to get in so we recommend changing those passwords right away if you are re-using your password. Also, make sure your cell phone number and backup email are correct on those before changing your password. If you do re-use your passwords, I would change it asap and use a password manager like Bitwarden so you can use a different password on each site. While you are at it, use a website like Privacy.com to pay for all website transactions. This site will give you a new card number for each site that can only be used on that site and you can set amounts. If the same number is attempted to be used on another site it will be denied. If the original site tries to charge you more than you expect, it will also be denied. Oh and both of these websites are free!
